AirPods series is gaining new features

Ana sayfa / News

Apple has launched its first public beta program for the AirPods Pro 2 and the upcoming AirPods 4. The new firmware allows users with devices compatible with iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe to test new features coming to AirPods early. With this update, AirPods are becoming more than just an audio device; they’re also becoming a more integrated companion for everyday use.

One of the most notable innovations coming to AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 is support for studio-quality audio recording. This feature provides professional-grade recording capabilities, especially for interviewers and video creators.

This allows the devices to function as portable microphones for podcasts and video recording. Furthermore, the improved audio quality in calls aims to provide a clearer and more natural communication experience.

The new update also adds camera remote functionality to AirPods. This functionality allows users to remotely control the Camera app and issue commands directly from the earbuds to start taking photos or recording videos. This Apple feature stands out as a functional innovation, especially for users who shoot with a tripod or vloggers.

For those who prefer to listen to music while sleeping, the automatic audio pause feature is an improvement that directly impacts AirPods usage habits. The earbuds automatically pause the audio when they detect that the user is falling asleep. This prevents unnecessary battery consumption and improves listening comfort.

The new beta software also includes CarPlay integration. While driving, AirPods can automatically switch to the iPhone and maintain a seamless connection. This provides a significant advantage for consistent connection, especially for in-car calls or media control.

Users who want to download the AirPods beta update must have a device running iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS Tahoe. To install the update, registration is required in the Apple Beta Software Program.

After logging in with your Apple account, the device is included in the beta program and the iOS 26 public beta is installed. Then, in the iPhone’s Bluetooth settings, tap the information icon next to the AirPods to open the “AirPods Settings” menu. This will reveal the “AirPods Beta Updates” option, and the user can activate the beta updates from there.
